Waves start every 10 minutes until 9:30 AM.

In its 8th year, Storm the Stadium is one of ECU’s most challenging new traditions. The stairs in Dowdy-Ficklen also present one of the longest stair climb challenges in eastern North Carolina! This event is co-sponsored by ECU’s Army ROTC and Air Force ROTC.
All proceeds from Storm the Stadium will benefit military-affiliated students through scholarships.
There are multiple ways to compete in Storm the Stadium:
- Walking Challenge: Participants who do not wish to do the stairs, can challenge themselves to get the most amount of pedometer steps during the event. These participants will be under the stadium rather than on the steps.
- Regular: “Just” climb all the stairs in Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium! The course will be marked to allow participants to go up and down all the steps in the lower bowl. Volunteers will be present to ensure no one gets confused on the course
- Ultimate: Do the lower bowl, the upper deck, and 4 body strength stations positioned throughout the course to REALLY challenge yourself
Individual or Team Options
- Individual– Set a personal goal and Storm the Stadium on your own
- Team– Register up to 5 individuals and Storm the Stadium together during the same wave time. A great opportunity for team building and to cheer each other on!

Storm the Stadium Registration Costs
Individual : $20 for the walking challenge, $25 per person for Regular, $35 for Ultimate
Teams: $15 per person on a walking team, $20 per person on an Regular Team, and $30 per person for an Ultimate Team
